What are you afraid of doing? Once you’ve asked yourself that question, the answer should be evident. It is often the thing that you have been procrastinating on. So what did you say to yourself that you will do but you never got around to? It is exactly what you are afraid of. It’s a circle of truth.
Let’s break down why most people procrastinate. Most people live in a comfort zone. The comfort zone is what your brain wants. It is what keeps it safe and out of harm’s way. The problem with the comfort zone is that it doesn’t help you grow in life. It only helps to maintain the status quo. Your status quo.
Procrastination often occurs when we don’t think about it. We see a task in our minds, but we delay the task to another time. This task, often seems small, sometimes annoying. But this task gives you an insight to your fear.
The thing that you are most desperately trying to avoid is the thing that you should be focusing on. It is exactly what you need to move past the comfort zone, your brain’s cushion. Unless you decide to do the things that scare you, you will live in this cushion zone.
Everything inside you will fight against improvement. Your brain and body was built for survival. Survival of your genes, your psyche, your body, yourself. But it is facaly to believe that while survival is necessary, it is rudamentary and primative. You must use your reasoning ability to define what you need past your basic needs.
One of the things you need is growth. You need to growth in order to not only survive, but thrive in your environment. You need growth to live a fulfilling life, a life of joy and enjoyment.
As a flow hacker, you are responsible for your own life. You are responsible to create a fulfilling life for yourself, in which you can experience joy and enjoyment. The only way to accomplish this is to always be pushing yourself past your comfort zone. And the only way to push is to constantly ask yourself: ‘what am I afraid of?’
The answer to this question will vary. Some answers are as simple as performing a phone call. Others are as complex as switch your careers. No matter the size of your fears, you need to face them face-to-face. Realize that unless you choose to acknowledge your fear, you will not overcome it. Unless you take action against your fear, you will not move forward.
As a flow hacker, you are responsible for always doing that which scares you. The only way to live a life of fulfilment is to do the things that you are avoiding.
Once you start facing your fears, they start dying. And you become addicted to facing new challenges. You become addicted to your own growth, your ability to say ‘fuck you fear’. You become an enlightened man or woman.
The more you do the things that scare you, the more you start to appreciate your limits. The more you discover who you are and what you’re made of. The more you push yourself, the more you become your best self.
As a flow hacker, the only way to achieve enlightenment and hack your hack into a state of flow, is to ask yourself: ‘what am I afraid of?’ then spend your time doing exactly that which you fear. It is through this constant quest of pushing yourself that you will gain the necessary skills and challenges to succeed in life. You will become self-actualized, through your fears, not around them. You will become the fearless warrior that you are. You will become a true flow hacker. But it is a quest that you must fulfil by yourself, as no one will help you define you own fears.
