Personal Policy

I only accept paid, prepaid engagements. All work is prepaid before each cycle begins. This page outlines my personal policy, engagement boundaries, and what I do not accept. For live pricing details, see Fractional CTO Services.

Working Relationship

If you hire me as a person, you are working directly with me as a fractional CTO. I also own Produvia, my agency, which may be the contracting and invoicing entity depending on the setup.

At the early stage, I take full ownership of the technical side. This looks like a fractional CTO role with co-founder level ownership and responsibilities during the build and MVP phase. The scope of work is defined per engagement based on your stage, goals, and constraints.

I stay involved until I have replaced myself — helping you define the role, interview candidates, and complete the handoff to a full-time CTO. This transition support is included as long as you are on a standard full-rate engagement (weekly to yearly commitment).

Payment Terms

All work is prepaid before each cycle begins. For ongoing work, I bill based on your commitment length, with payment due at the start of each cycle. Longer commitments receive progressively larger discounts.

Pricing Model

I never bill hourly. Pricing is based on commitment length, with longer commitments receiving progressively larger discounts.

Preferred payment methods are Wise and crypto payments.

Paying with Wise: Please handle setup early. Wise Business verification typically takes up to 2 working days, personal Wise verification usually takes 1–2 working days, and bank transfers to Wise can take 1–4 working days, or 1–6 working days for Swift transfers. Please account for this before kickoff.

Paying with cryptocurrency: I prefer stablecoin cryptocurrencies such as USDC, USDT, and USDe, but I also accept other cryptocurrencies such as BTC, ETH, and SOL.

All invoices are denominated in USD. Crypto payment amounts are based on the USD invoice amount. The client is responsible for network fees. Wallet details and payment instructions may be provided in the invoice, upon request, or during payment follow-up.

For current tier pricing, fundraising calculator details, and full breakdowns, see Fractional CTO Services.

Fundraising Exception

If you are actively raising, you can start at about 50% of the standard rate with 50% of my typical capacity and defer the remainder as back-pay until the raise closes. This is the only exception to full prepayment.

Back-pay is the difference between what you paid at the fundraising rate and what you would have paid at the standard rate. It is due immediately when your raise closes, and no later than one week after closing. If payment cannot be made within one week — for example, due to wire or bank transfer delays, which can take 1–2 weeks — you must disclose the reason and provide a clear expected payment date before the one-week mark. Undisclosed delays are not acceptable, and work pauses until payment clears.

Investor introductions (optional): For clients who want it, I can suggest warm introductions to investors in my network — angels, early-stage VCs, and syndicates. This is opt-in; some clients prefer to run their own fundraising process.

Conflict of interest: When I suggest introductions, I have a financial interest in your raise succeeding — your rate moves up to the standard tier and back-pay becomes due when the round closes. I flag this so you can weigh my suggestions accordingly.

If your raise does not close: If fundraising ends without closing, we will discuss transitioning to standard rates with full capacity, reducing scope to match your budget, or pausing the engagement. Back-pay from the fundraising period will be settled during that transition.

Start and Kickoff Timing

I start work only after payment has cleared and is deposited in the bank. I schedule the kickoff after funds are received, and the cycle begins once both sides confirm a kickoff time.

Transactional Meetings

I only meet when there is a clear agenda and a concrete outcome. Discovery calls are for fit and still require a short agenda.

What I Accept

  • Paid, prepaid engagements with clear scope and cadence
  • Early-stage products with clear technical ownership
  • Mutual fit on compensation, commitment, and working style
  • A planned transition once a full-time CTO makes sense, including handoff support
  • Fundraising-stage engagements that start at a reduced rate (about 50% discount) with 50% capacity and back-pay settlement on close (due immediately, no later than one week)

What I Don't Accept

  • Deferred or contingent compensation (for example, "paid after funding" or "salary later") unless it follows the fundraising exception above
  • Equity-only or revenue-share engagements — I do not accept equity-only compensation

If you're unsure whether your project fits my engagement criteria, please ask me directly. I value clear communication and would rather discuss upfront than waste your time or mine.
